Hi, I’m Freya Bryson,

an LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent identifying psychotherapist with a particularly interest in supporting others within these communities and what it means to live the life we want authentically and well. If you don’t identify as any of those, that’s okay, too. I am happy to support you as you are. All of you is welcome.

I offer in-person therapy in central Newcastle and Gosforth, Newcastle, Tyne and Wear and remote sessions so, no matter where you are in the UK, there are options for you.

None of us is invulnerable to life’s challenges and difficulties. Sometimes in our lives we can find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, fearful and isolated. Through therapy we can untangle ourselves, pursue the changes we want and seek the support we need whilst exploring what it means to be who we are in a safe and non-judgemental environment.

I have experience working with many concerns, but I am particularly passionate about working with trauma, anxiety, identity, and those in crisis.

I have a background in Transactional Analysis, but I also work in a trauma-informed and relational way through a number of methods, from working exploratively and creatively to pursuing practical skills and tools. I have a collaborative approach in finding out what works best for you as a unique individual.

I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychotherapy with distinction through the Newman University and a Diploma in Psychotherapy with the Northern Guild of Psychotherapy and Counselling. I am registered with the UKCP as an integrative psychotherapist.

My Approach

Each of us is unique. I hold you at the centre of our work together, tailoring my approach and working collaboratively with you so that you are welcome, seen, heard and supported.

Integrative approach

I use a number of techniques and ways of working: creative methods, guided imagery, parts work, psycho-education, transactional analysis, and many more to help us work towards your goal. I can offer both short-term solution-focused work and longer-term work.

Kink-affirming and non-monogamy, relationship-anarchy supportive.

Neuro-Affirming and Trauma-Informed

I am trained to work safely with trauma in an environment that is co-regulating so that you are not overwhelmed. I utilise a number of trauma-informed approaches and interventions. I work in a way that is neuro-affirming so that all of you is welcome and supported. I have engaged in professional development that supports neurodivergent people with a personal understanding of what it is to be neurodivergent in a neuro-typical world.
